Hi and welcome to the Parramatta RSL Camera Club's website. My name is Graham and I'm your webmaster for today. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to this new website and a couple of it's special items.

Firstly, this website uses "frames". Frames are used on most web sites, but not all browsers support them, specifically older web browsers or those for customised needs or purposes. If your browser doesn't support Frames, then there is a simple menu provided that should let you still access all the information.
But, if your browser does support frames, then you should see a nice banner, film strip and menus above this page. If you can't see those, then try clicking here. (You can press "BACK" on your browser to return to this page if the frames don't work for you.)

The next item I will describe is the slideshow film strip in the header, or at the top of the page. If you can't see this then it might be that your browser doesn't support frames, so read the previous paragraph to find out more. Initially, this slideshow doesn't move, allowing slower computers to still show the web site without hesitation. Here's a list of the features of the filmstrip slide show and how to use them:

• To get the pictures rolling, click on the "START" link below the first picture.
• If you want to change the speed of the scrolling, click on the plus (+)  or minus (-) symbols.
• To temporarily stop the scrolling, place the mouse over any picture.
• Or to more permanently stop the scrolling, click on "STOP".
• Click on "HIDE" to remove the filmstrip completely.  This allows more space for these other pages so can be handy.
• Don't worry about losing the filmstrip as a "Slide Show" menu option will appear to let you bring the filmstrip back!

The next topic is the menus. If you don't have frames, then the first page you received should have a list of the menus, the same that is shown for browsers that do support frames, you only miss out on the filmstrip slideshow really. However, if you do have frames, the list of menus are there to allow you to navigate through the pages on this website. The size of the menus will change depending on the width of your screen. This is to allow the menus to fit neatly under almost all circumstances. The rest of the fonts are left alone, but if you want to change the size of the fonts for easier reading, you can hold the control key on the keyboard down and turn the wheel on top of your mouse up & down. If you don't have a mouse wheel or your browser doesn't support this action, there should be an option to change the size of the text, this MIGHT be under View and then text size or something similar in your web browsers options. I encourage you to use this as it can make reading all this text easier sometimes. (hmmm, maybe I should have put that tip near the top of this page...)
